Excerpts from Russian President’s speech about US/West’s Empire of Lies:
It is a fact that over the past 30 years we have been patiently trying to come to an agreement with the leading NATO countries regarding the principles of equal and indivisible security in Europe. In response to our proposals, we invariably faced either cynical deception and lies or attempts at pressure and blackmail, while the North Atlantic alliance continued to expand despite our protests and concerns. Its military machine is moving and, as I said, is approaching our very border.

But the example that stands apart from the above events is, of course, the invasion of Iraq without any legal grounds. They used the pretext of allegedly reliable information available in the United States about the presence of weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. To prove that allegation, the US Secretary of State held up a vial with white power, publicly, for the whole world to see, assuring the international community that it was a chemical warfare agent created in Iraq. It later turned out that all of that was a fake and a sham, and that Iraq did not have any chemical weapons. Incredible and shocking but true. We witnessed lies made at the highest state level and voiced from the high UN rostrum. As a result we see a tremendous loss in human life, damage, destruction, and a colossal upsurge of terrorism.

Incidentally, US politicians, political scientists and journalists write and say that a veritable “empire of lies” has been created inside the United States in recent years. It is hard to disagree with this – it is really so. But one should not be modest about it: the United States is still a great country and a system-forming power. All its satellites not only humbly and obediently say yes to and parrot it at the slightest pretext but also imitate its behaviour and enthusiastically accept the rules it is offering them. Therefore, one can say with good reason and confidence that the whole so-called Western bloc formed by the United States in its own image and likeness is, in its entirety, the very same “empire of lies.”

We always need to be strong, but this strength can take on different forms. The “empire of lies,” which I mentioned in the beginning of my speech, proceeds in its policy primarily from rough, direct force. This is when our saying on being “all brawn and no brains” applies.

Putin slams West’s ‘empire of lies’

Russian President Vladimir Putin has called the West an “empire of lies,” responding to a new wave of sanctions that have hit the country over its military attack on neighboring Ukraine.
Speaking to top government officials on Monday, he said: “I invited you to discuss economic and financial issues … bearing in mind the sanctions that the so-called Western community — an empire of lies, as I called it in my address — is trying to implement against our country.”
The “empire of lies” term was coined by Russia’s president last Thursday, when he announced the launch of the offensive in Ukraine. Since the US is a “system-forming power,” the whole collective West has become such an “empire,” he said then.
“By the way, American politicians, political scientists, and journalists themselves write and say that, in recent years, an actual ‘empire of lies’ has been created inside the United States. It’s hard to disagree with that, as it’s true,” Putin stated.
All [the US] satellites not only dutifully agree, sing along to its music, but also copy its behavior, and enthusiastically accept the rules they are offered. Therefore, with good reason, we can confidently say that the entire so-called Western bloc, formed by the United States in its own image and likeness, all of it is an ‘empire of lies.’
Russia’s offensive in Ukraine has become the only option left to prevent further bloodshed in the country and stop Kiev from trying to launch an all-out assault on the breakaway regions of Donetsk and Lugansk in the country’s east, the Kremlin has claimed. Ahead of the attack, Moscow formally recognized the People’s Republics of the Donbass as independent states.
Kiev, however, claimed the attack was “unprovoked,” insisting it has had zero plans to retake the breakaway regions by force. Donetsk and Lugansk split from Ukraine back in 2014 following the Maidan, which ousted the democratically-elected government of the country. While active, large-scale combat ended with the 2014-15 Minsk agreements, the roadmap out of the crisis the deal had provided was never implemented, with the republics enduring years of low-intensity warfare that left thousands of people dead.

President Vladimir Putin has emphasized that Moscow’s trust in Western Europe has been fundamentally broken, stating that while Russia remains open to working with the EU to resolve the Ukraine conflict, it will no longer do so on the basis of trust.
The remarks came during Putin's meeting with Russian submarine crews following the launch of a new nuclear sub on Thursday, in the context of what he described as a “sincere” effort by US President Donald Trump to find a diplomatic resolution to the conflict.
While expressing cautious optimism toward Washington, the Russian president made it clear that Europe is no longer regarded as a trustworthy interlocutor.
“We are ready to work with Europe,” Putin said. “But they behave inconsistently and keep trying to string us along. That’s fine – we’re used to it now. I hope we won’t make any more mistakes based on trust in our so-called Western partners.”
Putin accused Western leaders – particularly in France, Germany, and the UK – of manipulating previous peace efforts, especially the Minsk Agreements, as a tactic to buy time and rearm Ukraine.
“Unfortunately, the former leaders of some Western countries... openly and without shame, have admitted that they only needed the Minsk Agreements to rearm the Ukrainian regime and prepare it for military action against us,” Putin said.
“We tried to resolve these issues peacefully for eight years,” even “when the conflict entered a hot phase,” Putin explained, accusing former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson of derailing the 2022 Istanbul peace talks.
“It is well known that Western handlers... arrived and persuaded the Ukrainian leadership to continue armed resistance to the end, essentially to the last Ukrainian, with the goal of inflicting a strategic defeat on Russia,” he said.
Despite the past breaches of trust, Putin maintained that Russia is still open to dialogue – including with European nations – but stressed that future agreements must rest on firm, enforceable guarantees.
s part of this approach, he floated the idea of placing Ukraine under a temporary international administration. He suggested that a UN-led transitional authority could organize elections and establish a legitimate government capable of negotiating a lasting peace.
“Of course, it would be possible – under the UN’s auspices and together with the United States, European countries, and our partners – to discuss the introduction of a temporary administration in Ukraine,” Putin said. “In order to hold democratic elections and bring a capable, trusted government to power, with whom we could then sign legally binding agreements.”
He concluded by reaffirming that any resolution must address Russia’s long-term strategic interests.
“We must, without question, ensure Russia’s security for the long historical perspective,” he said.

That's what so-called USNSS "Strategic Thinks Tanks" are for like RAND, NATO, Brookings, CATO, Hoover, Heritage Foundation, CSIS, Council on Foreign Relations, along with related elite university "research centers," etc...; to spew out reams of arcane "strategies" and basically self-serving stupid doctrines that rationalize "forever wars" under the pretext of "Threats to National Security" which is forever a vague, ambiguous and arbitrary concept used to justify "scaring the hell out of the American people" in order to squeeze multi-trillions of taxpayer monies poured into gargantuan Congressional Military Complex spending schemes... etc., etc., etc...

US admits it spread disinformation about Chinese Covid vaccine – Reuters
The Pentagon reportedly created hundreds of fake social media profiles to convince Filipinos that the Sinovac shot was “fake”
The US military has admitted that it ran a clandestine campaign aimed at discrediting China’s Sinovac vaccine in the Philippines and across Asia and the Middle East, Reuters has reported.
“It is true that the [Department of Defense] did message Philippines audiences questioning the safety and efficacy of Sinovac,” Pentagon officials wrote to their Filipino counterparts in a letter dated June 25 and reported by Reuters on Friday.
According to the document, the Pentagon admitted that it “made some missteps in our COVID related messaging” but assured Manilla that it halted the operation in late 2021 and has since “vastly improved oversight and accountability of information operations.”
The operation in question began in 2020, after China announced it would distribute Sinovac shots in the Philippines free of charge. In an effort to counter this public relations boon for Beijing, the Pentagon ordered its psychological operations center in Florida to create at least 300 fake social media profiles to disparage the Chinese vaccine, a Reuters investigation revealed last month.
“COVID came from China and the VACCINE also came from China, don’t trust China!” read a typical post created by the psyops team, while another stated: “From China – PPE, Face Mask, Vaccine: FAKE. But the Coronavirus is real.”
Military officials involved in the campaign knew that their goal was not to protect Filipinos from an unsafe vaccine, but to “drag China through the mud,” a senior officer told Reuters.
The propaganda campaign soon spread beyond the Philippines, according to the report. Muslim audiences across Central Asia and the Middle East were told that Sinovac contained pork gelatin, and was therefore “haram,” or forbidden under Islamic law. The campaign forced Sinovac to release a statement insisting that the shot was “manufactured free of porcine materials.”
The Pentagon has not publicly acknowledged the letter to the Filipino military, and the governments of the US and the Philippines refused to comment on the matter to Reuters.
Last month, however, a Pentagon spokesperson told the news agency that the US military “uses a variety of platforms, including social media, to counter those malign influence attacks aimed at the US, allies, and partners,” and claimed that Washington was only responding to a Chinese “disinformation campaign to falsely blame the US for the spread of Covid-19.”
The Chinese Foreign Ministry told Reuters that it has long maintained that the US spreads disinformation about China.
In the Philippines, Reuters’ report prompted an investigation by the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. In a hearing last month, Senator Imee Marcos, who leads the committee, called the Pentagon campaign “evil, wicked, dangerous, [and] unethical,” and suggested that Manilla investigate whether it can take legal action against Washington.

Washington sees nothing wrong in engaging in deceptive behavior to achieve its selfish aims, the Defense Ministry has said
The US long ago became an “empire of lies” as it continues to push false narratives about China and other countries to secure its position globally, Zhang Xiaogang, spokesman for the Defense Ministry in Beijing, has said.
Last month, the US Marine Corps released an unclassified version of an official doctrine titled Deception, which provides insight into the tactics it employs to gain an advantage over a perceived adversary and mitigate risks by relying on “deliberate distortion of reality.”
Speaking to reporters on Thursday, Zhang remarked that Washington’s “deceptive behavior” has gone far beyond the confines of military affairs and “has actually penetrated deeply into its bones.” The US “dares to invent falsehoods for its own selfish interests and has long become a veritable ‘empire of lies,’” he added.
The spokesman recalled that the US attempted to actively manipulate public opinion during the Cold War and then engaged in ploys with “washing powder” and relied on the White Helmets to “launch aggressive wars” against Iraq and Syria, respectively. Regarding the former, Zhang was referring to the now-infamous moment in 2003 when US Secretary of State Colin Powell presented the UN Security Council with alleged evidence of Iraq having weapons of mass destruction – a claim that later turned out to be false.
The White Helmets is a Syrian-based organization operating in opposition-controlled parts of the country. While claiming to be engaged solely in humanitarian activities, the group has vocally accused the government in Damascus of war crimes. The White Helmets, however, have been accused of having ties to terrorist groups, which it denies.Zhang also accused the US of launching false information campaigns to discredit Chinese vaccines in the Philippines and other countries. He was referring to a Reuters report earlier this month claiming that the Pentagon had run an undercover social media campaign to discredit the Chinese Covid-19 vaccine.
Zhang went on to stress that “you can deceive for a while, but you can’t deceive forever” while urging the US to “immediately correct its wrong practices, stop spreading false information, stop misleading the world with lies, and stop slandering other countries, and give a clear explanation to the international community for its deceptive behavior as soon as possible.”
